A Rose is not Always Just
a Rose...
A rose is not always just a rose. Do you realize there
are hundreds of colors and varieties of fresh roses grown in all
parts of our world? Some are short and some are tall, some are great,
some are not. What you need to know is that you are buying a genuine,
well-grown rose. Shelf life is an average of seven days, but this
takes some work on your part. Re-cutting and giving each rose fresh
water daily will prolong the life of that rose/roses to as long as
two weeks and even longer. Adding a preservative is helpful.
When buying
a rose, don’t be so concerned about the life span. Enjoy it.
So many customers want very tight roses and this can be foolish because
without the proper care after the purchase, the neck can bend and
die. A partially open rose is a better buy and there are lots of
varieties that actually do better when they are in an open stage.
